NEWLY PROMOTED GENERALS ACCORDED WITH GUARD OF HONOURS AT HOME OF SAPPERS
Major General DS Weeraman psc and Major General HJS Gunawardena RSP USP ndc psc, more popularly known as Dudley and Jagath among their associates, warmly welcomed by the home of Sappers, where two senior officers were accorded with Guard of Honours at the Regimental Headquarters Parade Ground on 15th May 2017 in honour of their promotion to the rank of Major General.
Two Senior Officers were received by the Centre Commandant, Brigadier Nishanatha Herath RSP USP psc at main entrance and were accompanied to the Parade Ground. Major General Dudley Weeraman was firstly accorded with the Guard of Honour followed by the Major General Jagath Gunawardena.
The occasion was marked with a Tea at the Officers’ Mess where two Chief Guests were greeted by all officers witnessed the occasion. Presently Major General Dudley Weeraman is holding the appointment of Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North/Central) and Major General Jagath Gunawardena is holding the appointment of General Officer Commanding 57 Infantry Division.
