NEW REGIMENTAL HEADQUARTERS BUILDING AND OFFICERS’ MESS OF 10 FIELD ENGINEERS REGIMENT WAS DECLARED OPENED

Newly constructed Regimental Headquarters building and Officers’ Mess of 10 Field Engineers Regiment was declared opened by the Colonel Commandant Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Major General H C P Goonetilleke RSP VSV USP ndc psc on 19 August 2016 at 10 Field Engineers Regiment premises Myliddy, Jaffna. At the invitation of the Commanding Officer 10 Field Engineers Regiment Lieutenant Colonel HSK Jayasinghe SLE, the Colonel Commandant Major General H C P Goonetilleke RSP VSV USP ndc psc symbolically cut a ribbon at the entrance to the newly constructed Regimental Headquarters building and unveiled the plaque. There after the Colonel Commandant and senior officers inspected the new RHQ building. Subsequently, the chief guest, symbolically cut a ribbon at the entrance and declared opened the new Officers’ Mess and unveiled the plaque. Giving a historic memory to the occasion the Colonel Commandant planted a tree sapling at the camp premises. There after the chief guest addressed the Sapper Officers and Other Ranks of 10 Field Engineers Regiment. The Commander Engineer Brigade Brigadier S J M A R Seneviratne RWP USP psc, The Centre Commandant Brigadier A N Amarasekara USP, The Deputy Centre Commandant Colonel A H L G Amarapala psc, mamy other Senior Sapper Officers, Sapper Officers and Other Ranks were presented for the occasion.
