Colonel Mangala Mayadunna assumed the office as 16th Centre Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers at the Corps Headquarters Panagoda, on 10 February 2020.
The newly appointed centre commandant was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Centre Commandant Colonel Chaminda Arachchige on his arrival to the Corps Headquarter. Thereafter, he was bestowed with Guard Turnout as per the military tradition.
Subsequently, newly appointed Centre Commandant symbolically took his office placing the signature on a formal document at an auspicious time amidst Seth Pirith chanting by Maha Sangha. Afterwards, Centre Commandant attend to the all Ranks Tea at the convention centre. As the last segment of the day’s programme all the Staff Officers conducted the Briefing on their relevant subjects and Center Commandant addressed the all Staff Officers.
