Major General S A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, General Officer Commanding of the Engineer Division made his first formal visit to the 7 Field Engineer Regiment, Batuoya, Minneriya on 26 June 2023. The General Officer Commanding was received on arrival by the Commanding Officer, Major J C Mapatuna RSP SLE, All Officers and Other ranks of the 7 Field Engineer Regiment.
According to the military tradition, the Guard Turnout was presented at his arrival at the entrance of the camp and the GOC planted a mango sapling in the camp premises to symbolize the visit. Afterward the Commanding Officer briefed the visiting GOC on the progress of projects, infrastructure development, training of Officers and soldiers, welfare of the soldiers, and combat readiness. Thereafter, GOC Engineer Division addressed all ranks by recalling past memories in the Regiment and emphasized the importance of team work, commitment and self-discipline of individuals to uplift the glamour of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. Further GOC has visited the reconstruction and development of Galewela Playground and review the progress of the project.
