Major General PPA Perera Hdmc psc assumed duties as 15th General Officer Commanding of 12 Infantry Division, amid religious blessings at the Divisional Headquarters, Hambanthota on 05 June 2023.
In accordance with military traditions, Maj Gen PPA Perera Hdmc psc was welcomed on the arrival by the Colonel General Staff, Col LR Wijerathne USP and invited to review the Guard Turnout.
After, the new General Officer Commanding was invited to sign official documents to mark the assumption of his duties amidst ‘Seth Pirith’ chanting of the Maha Sangha and also planted a sapling to symbolize the occasion. Then Maj Gen PPA Perara Hdmc psc addressed the troops of 12 Division 121 Brigade and 122 Brigade followed by an all rank tea party.
Brigade Commanders and Staff Officers of the 12 Division and Other Ranks were present during the day's event.
