MAJOR GENERAL PMR BANDARA WWV USP NDU PSC, ACCORDED WITH A GUARD OF HONOUR AND A DINNER NIGHT ON HIS RETIREMENT

Sappers family bid farewell to Maj Gen PMR Bandara WWV USP ndu psc upon completion of 32 year of his illustrious military career in the Army on 10 November 2017 at the Headquarters Corps of Engineers Panagoda. The farewell ceremonies included Guard Turnout, Floral Tribute to Fallen war Heros, Guard of Honour and a Formal Dinner Night.

Maj Gen PMR Bandara enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army on 18 January 1985 and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 31 May 1986 and joined the Corps of Engineers. Maj Gen Rohana Bandara is a legendry Sapper Officer who gained numerous achievements to his name. Senior officer has held many command, instructional and staff appointments during his tenure in the Army. He emerged as a victorious military commander during past Humanitarian Operations and rewarded with the gallantry medal Weera Wickrama Vibhushanaya (WWV) by HE the President and the Commander in Chief. In addition, senior officers great achievements in the field of sport are enormous.

The senior Sapper officer celebrated his 55th birthday on his farewell day. Colonel Commandant Corps of Engineers Maj Gen S Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, madam Iromi Ranasinghe the President Seva Vanitha Branch, Corps of Engineers, senior officers and their spouses extended best wishes for the outgoing Maj Gen and his loving family.
