The Army Inter Regiment Drill and Pace Stick Competition is one of the Sri Lanka Army’s most eagerly awaited and vibrant annual events. Known for its rigorous standards and competitive spirit, it brings together the finest soldiers from across the Army to demonstrate precision, discipline, and excellence in drill.

In a proud moment for the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, commended the exceptional achievement of S/244006 Warrant Officer II Ihalagedara I G S B J of the 9 Field Engineer Regiment during brief interaction session held at the on Tuesday, 07th January 2025 at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. The distinguished Warrant Officer earned the prestigious title of ‘Best Drill Instructor’ in the Pace Stick Column at the Army Inter Regiment Drill and Pace Stick Competition 2024. Major General Lanka Amarapala lauded, Warrant Officer II Ihalagedara’s exceptional commitment and skill, emphasizing the importance of fostering a culture of excellence within the Corps.
