Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, officially pinned rank insignias on the newly promoted Brigadiers, Colonels, and Lieutenant Colonels of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers during a distinguished ceremony held on 21st February at the Regimental Centre.
The event commenced with the pinning of rank insignias for Brigadiers and Colonels by Major General Lanka Amarapala, marking a moment of great honor for the officers. Among those promoted to the ranks of Brigadier and Colonel were Brigadier F Joseph USP, Centre Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers; Brigadier H K P Karunathilaka RSP, Commander of the Field Engineer Brigade; and Colonel T M Piros Jalal, Project Manager of the Defence Headquarters Complex (DHQC) Project.
In the second segment of the ceremony, Major General Lanka Amarapala pinned the insignias on the promoted Lieutenant Colonels. The honored officers included Lieutenant Colonel A A D Abeysinghe SLE, Lieutenant Colonel H W A C Chaminda SLE, Commanding Officer of the 16 Workshop Regiment SLE, Lieutenant Colonel M J Salgadu RSP USP SLE, Commanding Officer of the 14 CBRNE Regiment SLE, Lieutenant Colonel H P U Dasanayake USP SLE, Commanding Officer of the 4(V) Regiment SLE, and Lieutenant Colonel B D J Rangajeewa USP psc SLE, Commanding Officer of the 9 Field Engineer Regiment SLE.
After adorning the officers with their new insignias, Major General Lanka Amarapala conveyed his heartfelt wishes to the newly promoted senior officers. He commended them for their unwavering dedication, professionalism, and exceptional service and expressed confidence in their ability to take on greater responsibilities in their careers.
