Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services, officially assumed his responsibilities as the 12th Director General of the Financial Management of the Army on October 12, 2023, in the midst of a solemn ceremony at the Army Headquarters.
The incoming Director General of Financial Management, Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, was warmly welcomed by Colonel FM Branch, at the main entrance. As members of the Maha Sangha chanted Seth Pirith and bestowed blessings upon the 12th Director General of the Financial Management, Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, he affixed his signature to an official document, signifying the formal commencement of his duties. Following this, a ceremonial oil lamp was lit in his office, and a group photograph was taken. The ceremony was attended by Maj Gen SWM Fernando WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Military Secretary, Major General S.R.B Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, the Adjutant General, Maj Gen K P S A Fernando RWP RSP ndu, Director General Infantry, Maj Gen M P K Madurapperuma RSP USP psc, Director General Real Estate & Quartering and Brig PN Godellawatta USP psc Director Project Management Unit, Defence Headquarters, Col RM Subasinghe RSP, Deputy Centre Commandant Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Col LM Haputhanthri, Colonel Coord Office of Chief Field Engineer and other senior officers of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and the Corps of Engineer Services
Subsequently, a welcome tea was held where the Director General had the opportunity to interact with senior officers, directors within the Financial Management Branch, and the branch's staff. Finally, the ceremony concluded with a formal address to all the directors and staff of the Branch.
