MAJOR GENERAL LANKA AMARAPALA PAYS HIS MAIDEN VISIT TO PLANT ENGINEER BRIGADE

The General Officer Commanding of Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division, Major General Lanka Amarapala, paid his maiden visit to Plant Engineer Brigade on Thursady (22). The visiting GOC was received on arrival by the Commander of the Plant Engineer Brigade, Brigadier Nishshanka Samaradiwakara.

Major General Lanka Amarapala, on his arrival, reviewed the guard turnout at the entrance of the Plant Engineer Brigade in accordance with military formalities and planted a mango sapling to mark his formal visit to the brigade. Following that, the General Officer Commanding addressed the all ranks of the brigade headquarters. During his address he emphasized the importance of Combat Readiness to face future challenges and not forget to thank all the officers and other ranks for their support rendered during nation building projects such as Pibidemu Polonnarauwa, Gama Samaga Pilisadarak programme and development of sport schools and etc.

After a while, Major General Lanka Amarapala joined for refreshments with all ranks of the brigade and second to that he inspected the camp premises. Afterwards, the Commander Plant Engineer Brigade conducted a formal presentation to acquaint the GOC with the progress of the infrastructure development of the brigade and plant engineering projects.

The day’s itinerary concluded with the lunch at ‘Diggers Bunglow’.
