MAIDEN VISIT OF THE GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF THE ENGINEER DIVISION TO 4 (V) ENGINEER REGIMENT

General Officer Commanding of the Engineer Division Major General Shewanth Kulathunge, paid a formal visit to the 4(V) Engineer Regiment on 02 August 2023, at the invitation of the Commanding Officer. On arrival, the General Officer Commanding of Engineer Division was accorded a Guard Turnout followed by planting a Mango sapling to mark his maiden visit to the 4(V) Engineer Regiment.

The Commanding Officer conducted a briefing about history, projects, operational commitments and the administration matters of the unit. General Officer Commanding then addressed the Officer’s and Other Ranks of the unit. The General Officer Commanding in his address emphasized the great contribution done by forefathers of the unit and their contribution in construction field and many other fields such as sports with expertise and professional approach. He appreciated the commendable support given by troops especially in nation building tasks and all construction work carried out in the Army, expressing his heart felt gratitude. Subsequent to the troop address, the General Officer Commanding joined all officers and other ranks for refreshments.

Afterwards, the General Officer Commanding inspected the camp premises and the visit terminated at 1330 hours.
