Golf is a sport that teaches accuracy, focus and concentration. It also encourages creativity and creative thinking, such as the foresight to visualise where and how far your shot will go.
According to the concept of the Commander Security Forces Headquarters Mullaitivu and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Maj Gen MK Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu and under the guidance of the Commander Engineer Division Maj Gen SA Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, the Inter Unit Golf Tournament-2023 organised by 14 CBRN Response Regiment SLE kicked off during 14 - 16 August 2023 at the Army Golf Course Diyatalawa.
Opening Ceremony of the tournament was held magnificently declared open by the Commander Engineer Division Maj Gen SA Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc as the Chief Guest and the Centre Commandant SLE Brig MPK Madurapperuma RSP USP psc graced the prize awarding ceremony with the vice chairman of Army golf committee Lt Col MDJ Wickramaarachchi USP ptsc psc SLE. Overall Championship was won by the 4(V) Regiment SLE and 14 CBRN Response Regt SLE became the Runners Up.
Moreover, a Golf training day has conducted at Sappers’ Golf Course in Mattegoda on 04 Aug 2023 prior to the tournament and the pre-training session also conducted to getting experience in the Diyatalawa Golf course. The tournament conducted on 15 & 16 Aug 2023 with the participation of 51 players representing all units of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
At the termination of the Golf tournament following players were awarded with trophies and prizes for their performances.
