Insignia awarding ceremony of the Bomb and Improvised Explosive Devices Disposal course – BIEDDC No 2 was ceremonially held on 15th of November 2021 at the parade ground of Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering. The Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and the Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army Major General AN Amarasekara USP ndu participated for the event as the Chief Guest.Centre Commandant of SLE and Colonel Project of General Engineer Brigade also participated the event as the invitees.
3 x Officers and 36 x Other Rankers qualified to wear EOD badge after completion of the BIEDD course successfully and following officer and Other Ranker were secured the highest average during the BIEDD course.
a. O/66300 Maj MDCD Marambage psc SLE (10 Fd SLE)- The First in Order of Merit in Officers’ category. b. S/245843 L/Cpl Sampath LKA (9 Fd SLE)-The First in Order of Merit in ORs’ category.
Ceremony was unfolded with Guard Turnout, Insignia awarding and student oath which was delivered by the Commandant of Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering. Finally the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and the Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army Major General AN Amarasekara USP ndu addressed the course students and congratulate for their future.
