GOLD MEDAL FOR THE BEST THESIS AND THE BRONZE MEDAL FOR THE ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AT THE MASTERS COURSE OF NATIONAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION AT THE NATIONAL DEFENCE COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES.

Brigadier Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP psc of the Sri Lanka Army secured the Gold Medal for the Best Thesis and the Bronze Medal for Academic Excellence at the Regular Course 56 (2020/2021) conducted by the National Defense College of the Philippines.

Brigadier Amarapala graduated with 83 other International Students and was awarded the Masters in National Security Administration (MNSA) on Friday 17 September 2021 at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City, PHILIPPINES. The president of this graduate class was the Deputy Speaker of the Philippines Parliament.
The graduates of this programme consisted of a blend of Senior Officers from the Army, Navy and Air Force. In addition to the service personnel the programme also consisted of prominent members from the private and public sector which included Technical and Administrative Services, representatives from the legal sector and entrepreneurs.

Brigadier Lanka Amarapala is the first ever Sri Lankan to secure a medal for the Academic Excellence and to bag two medals (Gold & Bronze) in both categories at this course. The achievement of Brigadier Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP psc from the the Sri Lanka Army has brought prestige not only to the Corps of Engineers and the Sri Lanka Army but to the Country at large.

Founded in 1963, the National Defence College Philippines is the Philippine government’s highest center for education, training and research on National Defense and Security. The one-year MNSA program at the National Defence College of the Philippines is the only graduate-level degree program in the Philippines that covers a broad spectrum of National Security Policy Formulation and Administration.
