Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, delivered an inspiring address to Senior Officer and Officers of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers on Monday, 20th January 2025 at Home of Sappers, Mattegoda.
A key focus of his address was the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ initiative, a groundbreaking concept aligned with the vision of the Commander of the Army, as declared by the Government of Sri Lanka. This initiative aspires to build a sustainable future by promoting positive attitudes, ethical practices, and dedicated service. Major General Lanka Amarapala encouraged Officers to guide their under-command troops to adopt innovation, foster collaboration, and take responsibility in positioning Sri Lanka as a benchmark for environmental and ethical progress.
Additionally, the Colonel Commandant emphasized the significance of upholding the Army’s core values: Patriotism, Discipline, Loyalty, Integrity, Honour, Knowledge, Courage, Valour, Unity, and Commitment, where these principles form the cornerstone of disciplined and dedicated service for the Nation. Furthermore, he urged Officers to prioritize the well-being of soldiers by addressing their fundamental needs, including health and hygiene.
In conclusion, Major General Lanka Amarapala reminded Officers of their obligation to embody courage, knowledge, dedication, and commitment. Further, he urged them to meet the expectations of the Nation and their professional responsibilities with unwavering resolve, where his words served as a powerful call to action, inspiring Officers of the Corps to rise to the challenges of the year ahead with renewed dedication and purpose.
The event witnessed the active participation of 93 Senior Officers and Officers representing the Office of the Chief Field Engineer, Engineer Division, Regimental Centre SLE, 1 Field Engineer Regiment, 5 Field Engineer Regiment, 14 CBRNE Regiment, 16 Workshop Regiment, and 4(V) Engineer Regiment.
