Colonel Hassan Amir, Defence Advisor to the High Commission of the Republic of Maldives in Colombo, requested a call on with the Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army, Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, which took place at the Army Headquarters on Monday (24).
During the call on Colonel Hassan Amir exchanged his views with the Chief Field Engineer which involved exchanging courtesies and focused on the possibilities and requirements for further enhancement of the EOD training program for the Maldives National Defence Force. This is planned to achieve by providing EOD experts from the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
Moreover, Major General Lanka Amarapala and Colonel Hassan Amir recalled the long-lasting bonds of goodwill, cooperation, and understanding that exist between the Armed Forces of both countries during the meeting, and underlined the importance of joint training.
The General Staff Officer I (Field) and the Commanding Officer of the 9th Field Engineer Regiment also participated in the meeting.
