CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS SEVA VANITHA CHRISTMAS CAROLS, REVERBERATES & SPARKLES AT CORPS HEADQUARTERS, PANAGODA.
Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch staged an evening of Christmas Carols on 23 December 2017 at The Convention Centre SLE, amidst a gathering of distinguished invitee members of Seva Vanitha Branch, Senior Officers and Officers of the Corps.
The day’s Chief Guest, Mrs. Iromi Ranasinghe, the President of Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, graced the occasion. The melodious voices of Sapper children harmonized the traditional Christmas songs Seenu Handin, Do you hear what I hear, Bethlehem Pure, Maupiyanta Adaren, Silver Bells, Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, Jingle Bells, Pulun Wage, Silent Night and Feliz Navidad.
The CD “Dev Saminduta Geetha Gaya†was launched thereafter. Music was written and compiled by our member, Visharada Mrs Niluka Sanjeevani Fernando. Her three daughters Sajeni, Sisuri and Sethuni Fernando of HFC Bambalapitiya, are featured on this CD. “Maupiyanta Adaren†was sung by the three sisters at the carols, which was a beautiful song on the CD.
Mrs Iromi Ranasinghe, Mrs Rosy Karunaratne, Mrs Sagara Gunawardena, Mrs Dilhani Perera and Mrs Mihiri Herath distributed gifts to the choral singers, all children who attended and to the lady members.
The culmination of the event was the family get-together at the Regimental Officers’ Mess.
