THE COLONEL COMMANDANT PRAISED ACHIEVEMENTS IN COURSES AND SPORTS WITH CASH PRIZES

Under the inclusive framework of recognizing and appreciating the commendable accomplishments of Officers and Other Ranks of the Corps in courses and sports, the initiative to confer cash prizes was conducted with the guidance of Major General M K Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.

This laudable concept materialized during a brief interaction session at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, on 11 March 2024, presided over by the Colonel Commandant. The session served as a platform to individually commend and reward following Senior Officer and Other Ranks for their outstanding contributions, fostering a culture that values excellence within the military ranks as Sappers.

Following Other Ranks were awarded with privilege cash prizes for their achievements in sports.

Cpl Karunathilaka A D D – 13th South Asian Games Pistol Firing Team – Bronze Medal

L/Cpl Silva F H K L - 5th South Asian Games Karate (Kata) Individual (below 67 Kg) – Gold Medal, 13th South Asian Games Karate (Kata) Individual (below 67 Kg) – Bronze Medal

L/Cpl Dharmasena R M P – Indonesia President’s Trophy Boxing – Bronze Medal

L/Cpl Rajasinghe R M N S S – 5th South Asian Games Karate (Kumite) Team – Bronze Medal
