The Commander Security Forces Headquarters Mullaitivu and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Maj Gen MK Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu made visits to SLSME, Home of Sappers Mattegoda, 4(V) SLE and the RHQ SLE on 27th and 28th August 2023.
The programme was commenced from the SLSME and the Commandant Col MKV Manoharan USP cordially received the Colonel Commandant on his arrival. Subsequently, he visited to the newly acquired land from the Air Mobile Brigade to the SLSME.
Afterwards, he visited to the 4(V) SLE and the Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer Maj SJMECD Samarakoon RSP USP psc SLE. Thereafter, the Colonel Commandant was declared open the newly constructed lady officers’ accommodation building, Lecture hall and finally visited to unit canteen and saloon.
In line with the programme, the Colonel Commandant visited to the ‘Home of Sappers – Mattegoda’ for reviewing the progress of construction projects in WO’s and Sgts Mess at 5 Fd SLE, Score Board and Side screen in Sappers’ Cricket stadium and the construction of changing room at the Sappers’ Leisure Bay. The programme was culminated by opening of newly constructed Pre-Fabricated building at the RHQ SLE WO’s and Sgts mess. The Centre Commandant Brig MPK Madurapperuma RSP USP psc and Deputy Centre Commandant Col RM Subasinghe RSP also partook the events.
