COLONEL COMMANDANT OF CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS VISITED TO 11 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT AT NOCHCHIYAGAMA

The Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Major General H J S Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc visited the 11 Field Engineer Regiment at Nochchiyagama as his first official unit visit, as the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Engineers on the invitation of The Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel J A C S Jagoda psc SLE, on (Thursday) 12 March 2020. At the main entrance He was warmly welcome by the Commanding Officer and bestowed with Guard Turnout as per the military tradition.

After briefing by the Commanding Officer, the Colonel Commandant addressed the troops and there he highlighted the importance of comradeship among the troops and preventing the close friend from illegal drugs involvement. Then Colonel Commandant planted a tree to mark his visit and appear for a group photograph with invitees and unit Officers. Thereafter He attended to the all rank tea organized at NCOs' Club followed by the Field visit of the camp premises.

After camp visit Colonel Commandant commissioned the newly constructed Officers’ Mess and the Badminton court. The unit Karate team and Haka team presented a display adding a glamor to the event. Then the Colonel Commandant share his thought with the officers and after lunch he left his signature on the Visitors’ Book and Commanding Officer presented a plaque to the Colonel Commandant to commemorate his visit.
