The 20th Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and the Commandant of Defence Services Command and Staff College, Major General IHMNN Herath RSP USP psc made his official visit to 10 Field Engineer Regiment on 02 May 2022.
The Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer Lt Col WKST Kannangara psc SLE and all Ranks of the unit. The events were commenced with the guard turnout. Operational and administration matters related to 10 Field Engineer Regiment were briefed by Commanding Officer at the conference hall.
Later the Colonel Commandant declared open the newly constructed lecture hall from the funds allocated 1 million rupees to each unit in 2021 to develop infrastructure of the units as stated in the “Sri Lanka Army Way Forward Strategy 2020–2025” under the directions of Commander of Army. The Colonel Commandant planted a sapling beside the lecture hall to mark his official visit.
Finally, the Colonel Commandant addressed the troops and elaborated on the capabilities of sappers and the combat engineering tasks which were accomplished during humanitarian war. Also instructed to develop soldiers welfare and training in more concern. He further emphasized on the pleasant recommendation given by the Commander SF (J) regarding the commitments made by the Commanding Officer and troops of 10 SLE within SF (J) AOR.
