Sappers family bid farewell to Maj Gen HWSDB Pananwala RSP ndu on his completion of 36 years of illustrious military career in the Army on 23 November 2018.
Maj Gen HWSDB Pananwala RSP ndu was enlisted to the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army on 3 August 1982 and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 31 May 1986 to the Corps of Engineers. Maj Gen HWSDB Pananwala RSP ndu was a knowledgeable Officer who gained numerous achievements to his name and he has held many command, instructional and staff appointments during his tenure in the Army. The Senior Officer in his long span of service has actively participated in numerous Military Operations.
The farewell ceremonies included a Guard Turnout, Floral Tribute to Fallen War Heroes, Guard of Honour, All Ranks Tea and a Formal Dinner Night. Major General DDUK Hettiarrachchi RSP VSV USP ndu psc Colonel Commandant Corps of Engineers and Mrs Ajantha Hettiarrachchi the President Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Engineers together with senior officers and their spouses graced the occasion to extended their best wishes for the outgoing Major General.
