AWARDING CEREMONY OF SLE INTER REGIMENT SPORTS COMPETITION 2025 UNVEILED AT HOME OF SAPPERS

The Awarding Ceremony of the Inter Regiment Sports Competition 2025 of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was ceremoniously unveiled on Wednesday, 22nd October 2025, at the Home of Sappers, Mattegoda. The event commenced with the exciting Badminton Final Match, setting the tone for a day of sporting excellence and competitive spirit.

The awarding ceremony was graced by Major General DKSK Dolage USP nps psc, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, Chairman of Army Sports Committee and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, who attended as the Chief Guest of the evening.

The ceremony recognized the unwavering commitment, teamwork, and sportsmanship displayed by Sappers across a wide range of sports disciplines, including Cricket, Volleyball, Football, Chess, Tug of War, Squash, and Badminton. The champions and outstanding individual performers were awarded with certificates and trophies amidst an atmosphere of celebration and pride.

At the conclusion of the event, the Chief Guest, Major General D K S K Dolage, addressed the gathering and extended his warm congratulations to all participants. He commended the outstanding performances, discipline, and true Sapper spirit displayed throughout the championship. He further emphasized the value of sportsmanship in fostering unity, resilience, and leadership among soldiers, encouraging all Sappers to continue balancing excellence in both professional duties and sports.

The ceremony came to a close with resounding applause, marking another memorable milestone in the proud sporting journey of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers — a true celebration of teamwork, dedication, and Sapper pride.
