55TH CHIEF OF THE STAFF OF SRI LANKA ARMY MAJOR GENERAL HJS GUNAWARDENA RSP VSV USP ndc psc VISITS CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS REGIMENTAL CENTRE

The Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Major General Jagath Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc made his first official visit to the Headquarters SLE on 01 July 2020 after assuming duties as the new Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army.

The Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army was ceremonially welcomed by the Centre Commandant the of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Brigadier M Mayaunna RSP USP and awarded with a Guard Turnout. He laid a floral wreath to the monument of fallen war heroes and then he was bestowed with a Guard of Honor. Subsequently the Chief of Staff addressed a cross section of Officers and ORs at the Lieutenant General Angammana Memorial Hall.

During his brief address to the troops, the Chief of Staff Major General Jagath Gunawardena emphasized the qualities which the officers and ORs must inculcate and improve to keep the Regiment’s flag flying high. Further he stressed the importance of grooming up officers and men to meet the future challenges of the Sri Lanka Army and Corps of Engineers in future.
