The Colonel Commandant Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and the Commandant Defence Services Command and Staff College Major General IHMNN Herath RSP USP psc made his official visit to 12 Field Engineer Regiment, Pitigala on 26 February 2022. The Colonel Commandant on his arrival was warmly welcomed by the All Ranks of 12 Field Engineer Regiment.
The Colonel Commandant accorded with a guard turnout upon reception. Then the Commanding Officer conducted official briefing, subsequently Colonel Commandant addressing Officers stressed the importance of being professional members in the Army. He also instructed Officers to look into welfare of soldiers their under command. Later addressing the troops the Colonel Commandant highlighted the importance adhering the principles of engineers and requested to commit towards nobal goal of the Corps.
He appreciated the progress so far made even though the regiment was temporary placed under 612 Infantry Brigade. Officers and Other Ranks of the regiment presented the events held with compliance to the COVID 19 health guidelines.
