    Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe RSP USP ndu assumed office as the 22nd Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery on 23rd December 2021 in a grandiose ceremony held at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.

    Sri Lanka Artillery bid farewell to outgoing 21st Colonel Commandant Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda ndc IG on 21 December 2021, who retired after serving more than 35 years in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army. Ceremony was held in its customary way at Artillery Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.

    Artillery Colours Night 2015/2021, which is one of the much-anticipated and glamorous event, conducted first time in the history of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery on 12 December 2021 at Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksha Theatere. The Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil graced the occasion as the chief guest with the invitation of Deputy Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda ndc IG.

  • BREAKING MORE THAN SEVEN YEARS OF SILENCE, THE ‘BASIC GUN’ OF THE REGIMENT OF SRI LANKA ARTILLERY IN ACTION AT THE FIELD FIRING RANGE TEMPITIYA

    The School of Artillery was able to conduct field firingwith help of 122mm Gun Howitzers which are considered as the ‘Basic Gun’ for artillery training, after more than seven years of pause, on 19th and 20th November 2021. Artillery field firing which was conducted at the Field Firing Range Maduruoya, has officially terminated from April 2014 and then inaugural field firing was carried out at the new Field Firing Range at Tempitiya on 16 July 2021 by firing 120mm Light Mortars.
