  • COURSE NUMBER 2 OF DRONE TRAINING COMMENCED

    Taking a progressive step ahead as according to the 'Army Way Forward 2025' visionary plan of CDS and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva, Drone Regiment is been equipped with 6 more number of highly technically advanced DRONEs. After acquire the equipment, troops of 15 Drone Regiment SLA commenced 2nd Phase of training on 24 February 2021 at PANAGODA. By gracing the occasion, Colonel Commandant Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda, emphases the devotion and interest to be maintained towards the training and guided to absorb all related aspects of technical handling enthusiastically. The Centre Commandant and Commander Artillery Brigade, senior officers, officers and men attended for the simple but dignified ceremony. During the speeches' of Colonel Commandant and Commander Artillery Brigade paid their respectful gratitude with great honour to the CDS and Commander of the Army for the opportunity provided to function Drone Regiment under SL Artillery and mentioned all the guidance and instructions given and most importantly approving the financial requirement to procure new DRONEs. Also emphasized the support given by Dr. Manju Gunawardhana from the inception of this regiment.

  • Farewell to Major General MP Lamahewa USP

    The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery bid a farewell to Major General MP Lamahewa USP, on 22 February 2021 at his retirement from the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army after serving more than 34 years and the Ceremony was held at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.

    The Commander, Security Forces Headquarters (Kilinochchi) and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda marked his maiden visit to 10 Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery on 11 February 2021, at Vasavilan, Palaly.

  • COLONEL COMMANDANT MARKED HIS MAIDEN VISIT TO 11 SLA (RFT)

    The Commander, Security Forces (Kilinochchi) and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda marked his maiden visit to 11th Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery (RFT) on 27 January 2021, at Artillery Camp, Selvary, Talaimannar. On his arrival, he was honoured with a Guard Turnout at the main entrance and welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 11 SLA (RFT) Lt Col AMVD Abeysinghe RSP USP IG SLA. Subsequently the Commanding Officer briefed about the present deployment, duties and developments of the Regiment and appreciated guidance given by the Colonel Commandant.

    The Commander, Security Forces (Kilinochchi) and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda marked his maiden visit to 12(V) Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery on 26 January 2021. The Colonel Commandant was honoured with a Guard Turnout at the main entrance of 12(V) SLA on his arrival and welcomed by the Commanding Officer at Artillery Camp, Koorai. Lt Col DMBPB Dissanayake RSP USP SLA, the Commanding Officer of 12(V) SLA briefed about the present deployment, duties and developments of the regiment. Colonel Commandant addressed all the troops and appreciated valuable contribution 12(V) SLA made in ensuring national security. The officers and other ranks of the Regiment had a golden opportunity to interact with the Colonel Commandant at the all ranks tea organized.
