  • COLONEL COMMANDANT MARKED HIS MAIDEN VISIT TO 12(V) SLA

    The Commander, Security Forces (Kilinochchi) and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda marked his maiden visit to 12(V) Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery on 26 January 2021. The Colonel Commandant was honoured with a Guard Turnout at the main entrance of 12(V) SLA on his arrival and welcomed by the Commanding Officer at Artillery Camp, Koorai. Lt Col DMBPB Dissanayake RSP USP SLA, the Commanding Officer of 12(V) SLA briefed about the present deployment, duties and developments of the regiment. Colonel Commandant addressed all the troops and appreciated valuable contribution 12(V) SLA made in ensuring national security. The officers and other ranks of the Regiment had a golden opportunity to interact with the Colonel Commandant at the all ranks tea organized.

    The Commander, Security Forces (Kilinochchi) and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda marked his maiden visit to 11th Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery (RFT) on 27 January 2021, at Artillery Camp, Selvary, Talaimannar. On his arrival, he was honoured with a Guard Turnout at the main entrance and welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 11 SLA (RFT) Lt Col AMVD Abeysinghe RSP USP IG SLA. Subsequently the Commanding Officer briefed about the present deployment, duties and developments of the Regiment and appreciated guidance given by the Colonel Commandant.

  • The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery Felicitated Newly Promoted Major Generals

    The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery presented military honours and warm greetings to the newly promoted Major Generals, Major General KPS Premalal RWP RSP USP and Major General DMTB Dissanayake RSP USP, during a formal ceremony held on 14 December 2020 at the Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.

  • Workshop on 'Introduction to Archery' was conducted by the 15 DRONE Regiment

    In view of further developing sport activities in the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, with the directions and responsibilities given out by the Colonel commandant to the respective regiments to initiate few sports within the Regiment, a Workshop on "Introduction to Archery" was conducted by the 15th DRONE Regiment at the Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda on 13 November 2020.

    New security dimension in 21st Century has prompted state of concern to reflect the challenges, and opportunities that the future may hold and how best the plans to be made to change with the organizational structure to meet envisaged challenges. The visionary thinking of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, matters to envisaged and formulate an Army Way Forward 2020-2025 strategic plan. In parallel Regiment of Artillery too process its Way Forward plan.

    Major General KNS Kotuwegoda ndc IG assumed office as the 21st Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery on 29th October 2020 in a grandiose ceremony held at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.

  • Farewell to Major General PR Wanigasooriya VSV USP ndu USACGSC

    The Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery bid a farewell to Major General PR Wanigasooriya VSV USP ndu USACGSC, 20th Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery on 26th October 2020 at his retirement from the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army after serving more than 34 years and the Ceremony was held at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.

  • Colonel Commandant appraise the 132nd Regimental Day Parade

    A colourful Regimental Parade was accorded to the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery on 19 September 2020 at the 6th Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery parade ground marked another important event of the series of events conducted with the 132nd Anniversary. The day’s event also textured with All ranks lunch held at 6 SLA with the participation of senior officers, officers and members of all Regiment of the Regiment of Artillery.

    Celebration of 132nd Anniversary of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, WOs’ and Sgts’ Cocktail was held at WOs’ and Sgts’ Mess, Panagoda on 18 September 2020 with the participation of Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery and senior officers.
