Confers with VSV Honors Medal for Senior Gunner Officers

On the eve of the 75th National Independence Day anniversary, 8 Senior gunner Officers (both serving and retired) who had maintained exceptional, distinguished, unblemished and loyal service of moral and military conduct for not less than 25 years were conferred with the ‘Vishishta Seva Vibushanaya’ (VSV) decoration on 1st February 2023 by the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency the President Ranil Wickremesinghe during a conferment ceremony at the President’s House in Kandy.

The Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General W A S S Wanasinghe RSP USP ndu, Director General Financial Management and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP USP, Maj Gen A S Ariyasinghe (Rtd) RWP RSP USP, Maj Gen T D Weerakoon (Rtd) RWP RSP USP, Maj Gen M P Lamahewa(Rtd) USP, Maj Gen K T A D S Kolabathanthri (Rtd) RWP RSP USP psc IG, Maj Gen D P U Gunasekara (Rtd) RWP USP IG and Maj Gen L D S S Liyanage (Rtd) RSP USP Hdmc psc were awarded with the medal.
