The Gajaba Regiment held its 2nd Colours Awarding Ceremony to appreciate the achievements of the Gajaba sportsmen in the various fields of sports on 20 March 2018 at Bishop’s College Auditorium, Colombo. The Commander of the Army, Lt Gen Mahesh Senanayake graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and accompanied by President of the Sri Lanka Army Seve Vanitha Branch, Mrs Chandrika Senanayake. Further, former Test Cricket Captain, veteran Cricketer and Coach Mr Mahela Jayawardena also graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour with the invitation of the Col of the Regiment, Maj Gen Shavendra Silva. There were 101 colour recipients awarded with Gajaba Colours during the event.

Gajaba ( Keterians ) Rugby Team has taken part the Dialog Inter Club 7s Tournament segment 2 on 17th and 18th of June 2017 at Welisara Navy Grounds.
The Gajaba Rugby Team has become the plate runners up lost to navy sea horse 17-12 points.

Panegyric of parents was held on 13th December 2015 at Gajaba Regimental Centre Gymnasium with guidance of the Karavitadeniye Gunarathna thero. It was conducted by Sri Lankan childrens who have residence in Singapore. This programe mainly concerned for 67 of parents at Saliyapura elders hermitage and 50 disabled soldiers. Regimental Commandant Brig W M J R K Senaratne and all officers of the Gajaba Regimental Centre and many others army personals participated for that event.

To boost up the ongoing environmental development of Mankulam area, 3rd Battalion the Gajaba Regiment started a project named Ever Green Nursery. It is facilitate local people of the area to recover environmental damages caused by the 3 decades of war. All military and civil can purchase their requirements from Ever Green Nursery for reasonable and law price than outside markets.

The Catholic religious observances held at St. Josepha Cathedralâ at Anuradhapura on Tuesday (10) morning invoked blessings on the forthcoming 34th Regiment Day of Gajaba (Oct 14). Col LHM Rajapaksha RWP RSP USP the Deputy Centre Commandant the Gajaba Regiment and many other Senior Officers / Officers and Other Rankers participated for the event.

Commemoration of War Heroes programme was held at the Gajaba Regimental Centre with participation of 238 families & relatives of fallen war heroes, on 13 October 2017.
The Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army and Col of the Gajaba Regiment, Maj Gen Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc was the Chief Guest of the event and he was warmly welcomed by the Col WHKS Peiris RWP RSP USP, the Centre Commandant the Gajaba Regiment. Many senior officers / officers and other rankers also participated in the occasion.

The Gajaba Regiment, commemorated its 34th Anniversary Day Saturday (14) morning by greeting a Guard Turnout in accordance with military formalities and awarded a magnificent and sententious parade.The day Chief Guest Maj Gen Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Adjutant General of Sri Lanka Army and Col of the Gajaba Regiment, and he was received by Col WHKS Peiris RWP RSP USP, the Centre Commandant the Gajaba Regiment. The Parade Commander Lt Col SDKWMMI Weliwita RWP RSP USP psc reviewed the parade and presented by representative troops of 24 platoons including 28 officers and 746 other rankers
