'Gajaba Poson Kalapaya 2019' was inaugurated yesterday (16) evening by Major General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel of the Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment and Commando Regiment along with Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, the Vice President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit and the President of the Gajaba Seva Vanitha Branch at the Regimental Centre, the Gajaba Regiment, Home of Gajaba, Saliyapura.
After lightning the traditional lamp the Chief of Staff and President GRSVB was invited to illuminate Poson Lanterns. Then they made a visit in the Poson Kalapaya to witness the colourful lanterns and the Chief of Staff also did not forget to appreciate and encourage Gajaba troops for thier effort taken despite commitments in the security realm. Soon after the Bathi Gee Saraniya (Poson devotional songs) was staged performed by Gajaba Regimental team and school children of the Anuradhapura Sumangala Daham Pasala, Mangalagama.
The Deputy Centre Commandant Col LHM Rajapakshe RWP RSP USP, Vol Coord Col RMH Jayathissa, Commanding Officers and several others were also present at the occasion.
