TROOPS OF 15TH CONTINGENT SLFPC IN LEBANON RETURN TO SRI LANKA AFTER COMPLETION OF TOUR OF DUTY

The 15th contingent of the Sri Lanka Force Protection Company (SLFPC) in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) returned to the island on Wednesday (02) July 2025 upon completion of their tour of duty in the UNIFIL. The 15th SLFPC contingent commanded by Lieutenant Colonel D K D Vithanage RSP VIR, consists of 11 Officers and 114 Other Ranks and as the Rear Party Eight Officers and four Other Ranks stayed in Lebanon until the completion of duty handing over process.

A UN-chartered Ethiopian Airlines flight (ET 8804) landed at Bandaranaike International Airport at 1530 hours where the contingent was warmly welcomed by Brigadier C D Wickramanayake WV RSP ndc Director Movement and Brigadier M K D P Mapalagama psc Director Overseas Operations along with a gathering of Officers and Other Ranks.
