THE CONTINGENT OF 5 TH COMBAT CONVOY COMPANY (CCC) COMMENCES CONVOY OPERATIONS

The 5th Sri Lankan Combat Convoy Company commenced their first convoy operation on Monday (07) August 2023 after successful completion of induction training schedule.

The initial convoy operation was taken up to facilitate logistics resupply of KIDAL, AGULOKE, TESSALIT United Nations bases and other key installations of MINUSMA along with 228 civilians logistic vehicles under the direct supervision of Force Headquarters in BAMAKO.

18 Officers and 141 soldiers engaged in convoy protection duties in a challenging environment from Gao Super Camp to Tessalit. In one way, 577 Km total distance to be travelled with 19 Armoured personal carriers and 17 military self-sustaining trucks.
