MORE PEACEKEEPERS, NOW TRAINED AT IPSOTSL

Force Protection Company (FPC) Pre Deployment Training course for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) was commenced on Monday (10) July 2023 at the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL), Kukuleganga.

The main objective of this training capsule is to offer brief awareness about the relevant host country and to prepare the peacekeepers to fulfill the UN objectives proficiently and effectively in liaison with various headquarters and contingents in the mission environment. 13 Officers and 177 Other Ranks representing various regiments are following this course.

Brigadier C. A. Rajapaksha RSP, the Commandant of the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) graced as the Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony and delivered the opening address. Therein, he highlighted the importance of this rare opportunity, which is boosting the Nation’s image in the international arena.

The course will conclude on 11 August 2023.
