IPSOTSL BEGINS THE PRE DEPLOYMENT TRAINING COURSE FOR THE FEMALES OF ADDITIONAL COMBAT CONVOY COMPANY MALI (MINUSMA) - 2023

The Pre Deployment Training short course for the females of the additional Combat Convoy Company in Mali (MINUSMA) - 2023 was commenced on Tuesday (13) June 2023 at the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL).

The course consisted of 34 female military personnel including 04 x Officers and 34 Other Ranks from the various Corps and Regiments. This Pre Deployment course is designed according to the guidelines issued by the UNDPO with the intention of providing comprehensive knowledge on the theoretical and practical aspects of United Nations and provision of force protection to humanitarian assistance with staff duties and military police duties. According to the UN mandate, this short course is newly added to represent the female participation of the the United Nations peacekeeping operations.

The Opening remark was delivered by Brigadier C A Rajapaksha RSP, the Commandant of the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka and he highlighted the importance of this rare opportunity owned by the female representatives of the Sri Lanka Army.
