SRI LANKAN PEACEKEEPERS SHOW COLOURS IN 13 th ISF HALF MARATHON

The 13th ISF Half Marathon organized by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) under the supervision of the Lebanese Athletics Federation and the Director General of the Internal Security Forces got underway on Sunday (11) June 2023 in Beirut, Lebanon.

This marathon was organized for the 13th consecutive year under the theme: "We run together despite everything". Nearly 1600 runners from various sports clubs and universities, as well as the individual runners (men and women) in Lebanon, Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), Internal Security Forces (ISF), General Security, State Security, Customs, Beirut Fire Brigade and the UNIFIL participated in the race according to the age groups.

Representing the Sri Lankan Force Protection Company (SLFPC) in UNIFIL, Capt Shanaka Dissanayake SF, WOII Saman Gunasiri SLSC, WOII Priyantha Kumara SLE, Cpl Nuwan Sanjeewa SF, Bdr Samantha Kumara SLA, Cpl Ruwan Piyatissa MIR and L Bdr Dinesh Jayathilake SLA won the medals after completing the 21.1 Km long half marathon in less than 3 hours..
