HIS EXCELLENCY THE AMBASSADOR OF SRI LANKA TO LEBANON AND SYRIA MARKS HIS MAIDEN VISIT TO SRI BASE – UNIFIL

The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Lebanon and Syria His Excellency Mr Kapila Susantha Jayaweera marked his maiden visit to UNIFIL headquarters and the Sri Lankan Contingent in Naqoura, Lebanon on 07 March 2023.

His Excellency the Ambassador was accorded with a Drive Past at the main entrance and welcomed by the Contingent Commander, Lieutenant Colonel DPLT Kaluaggala RSP USP IG SLA. Later on, the visiting Ambassador had an office call with the Head of Mission and the Force Commander of UNIFIL, Major General Aroldo Lazaro Saenz at the UNIFIL headquarters. Therein, the Contingent Commander and the Operations and Training Officer briefed the deployment, role and the tasks of the Sri Lankan contingent at UNIFIL.

The visit was followed by a camp visit, troop address and a group photograph. and concluded the event by making the remarks on Visitors’ Book.
