13TH UNFIL TROOPS IN THE SRI LANKA ARMY WON 3RD PLACE IN TUG OF WAR TOURNAMENT

With the aim of developing friendship among the nations and remembering the special occasions of the peacekeepers serving in Lebanon, a sports festival is organized by the UNIFIL Headquarters as an annual event.

In line with the annual festival of this year, a Tug of War tournament was organized by the French peacekeeping battalion on 18 and 19 August 2022 at UNIFIL Headquarters.

The players of the 13th Sri Lanka Army Force Protection Company in Lebanon consisting of Senior Non Commissioned officers and Non Commissioned Officers won the 3rd place of the tournament out of 24 countries. Brigadier General Bruno Heuli Chief of Staff, the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) graced the event as the Chief Guest.

Senior Officers, representatives of the United Nations and a large number of peacekeepers were present at the awarding ceremony.
