TROOPS OF 4TH CONTINGENT CCC IN MALI RETURN TO SRI LANKA AFTER COMPLETION OF TOUR OF DUTY

The 4th Sri Lankan Combat Convoy Company (CCC) consisting of 161 Army personnel including 06Officers and 155 Other Ranks returned to Sri Lanka on Monday (03) July 2023 after completion of Tour of Duty in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).

The UN chartered Ethiopian Airlines flight touched down the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) Colombo at 1015 hours. In the meantime, the troops of 4th Combat Convoy Company (CCC) were warmly welcomed by Major General J M R N K Jayamanna RWP Commader14 Division. After that, the contingent troops were subjected to do HIV, VDRL and FFI tests.

Sri Lankan troops contribution to the MINUSMA mission was highly appreciated by Brigadier General Meunier Jean-Michel the Mission Chief of Staff at the MINUSMA Headquarters in Bamako over one year commendable service had secured MINUSMA objectives..

Brigadier W B J K Wimalarathna RWP RSP Center Commandant the Gemunu Watch, Col P P C Perera Overlooking Director Overseas Operations together with few senior officers of the Sri Lanka Army graced the troops arrival at the BIA.
