NEW CONTINGENT COMMANDER OF 5TH COMBAT CONVOY COMPANY (CCC) ASSUMES DUTIES

Colonel W. W. N. P. Wickramaarachchi of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment assumed duties as the new Contingent Commander of 5th Combat Convoy Company (CCC) to undertake responsibilities in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) on Tuesday (04) July 2023 during a simple ceremony held at Gao Super Camp.

In line with the day’s programme, the newly appointed contingent commander laid a floral wreath at the War Heroes’ monument to pay his tribute to the memory of fallen ones who made the supreme sacrifice on behalf of the MINUSMA mission.

Then, Colonel W. W. N. P. Wickramaarachchi newly appointed Contingent Commander symbolically placed his signature on an official document to mark the assuming of duties amidst religious observances at his office. Afterwards, all Officers and Other Ranks of the contingent extended warm wishes to the newly appointed Commanding Officer for a successful tenure.

Further, setting out his scope of work and duties, the newly appointed contingent commander addressed the Officers and Other Ranks as a formality and emphasized the importance of working as a team with high standards of discipline when performing duties in the mission.
