MINUSMA FORCE COMMANDER VISITS SRI LANKAN COMBAT CONVOY COMPANY (CCC) IN MALI

UN Contingent Force Commander in Mali (MINUSMA), Major General Mamadou Gaye paid a visit to the Sri Lankan Combat Convoy Company (CCC), deployed in Mali on Wednesday (17) May 2023.

Major General Mamadou Gaye, the visiting Force Commander MINUSMA was greeted with a Guard Turnout at the entrance of the camp where Colonel J M D N C Jayamaha, Commanding Officer of 4th CCC warmly welcomed him.

In line with the day’s programme, a floral tribute to fallen war heroes in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) was conducted at the newly built war heroes’ monument in Gao Super camp premises. Afterwards, the visiting Force Commander was enlightened on specific CCC assignments and tasks through a presentation by the Commanding Officer of 4th CCC.

Later, Sri Lankan CCC was highly admired by the Force Commander and gave away the Force Commander's Commendation letters to Lieutenant Colonel L B S U K Liyanagedara psc SLAC and Major P V R P Kumara RSP USP psc MIR in appreciation of their exemplary work and dedication to the MINUSMA mission.

Before the day's itinerary drew to a close, the visiting Force commander placed his signature in the Visitors’ Book to mark his visit.
