MINUSMA FORCE COMMANDER VISITS SRI LANKAN COMBAT CONVOY COMPANY

Force Commander in Mali (MINUSMA), Lieutenant General Dennis Gyllensporre paid a visit to the Sri Lankan Combat Convoy Company (LKACCC) deployed in Republic of Mali on 19 September 2020 and received an update on the role performed by the LKACCC.

The Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by the Officers of LKACCC and subsequently he was enlightened on the Role and tasks assigned to the LKACCC through a presentation, conducted by Major Monoj Vithanage, the Deputy Contingent Commander of the LKACCC. Afterwards, Force Commander addressed the officers and highly appreciated the tasks performed by the LKACCC that conduct Convoy Escort duties which would facilitate the functions of all MINUSMA key installations and further he emphasized the professionalism and discipline maintained by the troops of the LKACCC.

Thereafter, he added memories to the visit by sitting together for a group photograph and planting a sapling in the premises. Further, The Senior Officer visited the camp area, Other Ranks’ accommodation and Level – I Hospital. Finally, LKACCC presented a plaque and a souvenir as a token of appreciation and followed by dinner treat that brought the day’s event to the end.

Lieutenant General Dennis Gyllensporre was accompanied by Colonel Tame Gallab Deputy Sector Commander, Sector East and few other senior Officers from the Force Headquarters .
