THE MEDAL AWARDING CEREMONY OF THE 15TH SRI LANKA FORCE PROTECTION COMPANY AT THE UNITED NATIONS INTERIM FORCE IN LEBANON

The Medal Awarding Ceremony of the 15th Sri Lanka Force Protection Company at the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), the prestigious military ceremony that appreciates the exemplary dedication, made by any specific contingent, took place on 11th February 2025 at the UNIFIL Headquarters, Naqoura, Lebanon where the Sri Lankan contingent was honoured with UN medals.

Accepting the invitation extended by the Sri Lankan Contingent Commander Lieutenant Colonel D K D Vithanage RSP VIR, the Deputy Force Commander of UNIFIL Major General Chok Bahadur Dhakal graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. HE the Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Lebanon Mr. Kapila Susantha Jayaweera, Senior Officers of Lebanon Armed Forces and Senior Officials of the UNIFIL attended as guests of honour of the ceremony. /p>

Further, the delegation representing the Sri Lanka Army, Major General U K D D P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc - Director General General Staff – AHQ, Major General K A W N H Bandaranayake USP - Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and Brigadier S A Hettige RSP psc - Director, Directorate of Overseas Operations, AHQ attended the ceremony.
