DIRECTOR OVERSEAS OPERATIONS VISITS INSTITUTE OF PEACE SUPPORT OPERATIONS TRAINING SRI LANKA

Brigadier M.W.S. Millagala RWP RSP USP Hdmc psc,the Director of the Directorate of Overseas Operations paid a formal visit to the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) on Friday (09) August 2024.

Upon arrival at IPSOTSL premises, the Director Overseas Operations was warmly welcomed by Brigadier S.A. Hettige RSP psc, the Commandant of IPSOTSL in accordance with military traditions. Then, the Director Overseas Operations was invited to plant a mango sapling in the compound to symbolize the visit.

Adding more importance to the day's itinerary, the Director Overseas Operations addressed the Pre-Deployment Contingent and emphasized the significance of UN missions. Afterward, the Commandant briefed on IPSOTSL’s current operations and future prospects. Later, the Director Overseas Operations visited the camp premises to review the training infrastructure.

Towards the end of the programme, a special memento to the Director Overseas Operations was also present at the occasion. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
