11TH CONTINGENT OF SRIMED LEVEL 2 HOSPITAL LEAVES FOR UN PEACEKEEPING DUTIES

The 11th contingent of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) left to serve at the Level-2 SRIMED Hospital under the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) on Thursday (13) February 2025.

The outgoing contingent, commanded by Lt Col R M D B Rajapaksha USP SLAMC, and Second in Command, Lt Col K D P D E A Wijesinghe SLAMC, comprises 64 Army personnel, including 16 Army Officers, 02 Naval Officer and 46 Other Ranks. Before their departure, 11th contingent troops took over peacekeeping roles on Friday (31) January 2025 presenting a ceremonial salute to Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army at the SLAMC Regimental Headquarters ground in Werahera.

Major General DKSK Dolage USP psc, Colonel Commandant SLAMC and Director General Army Health Services, Brigadier WAUS Wanasekara RWP USP, Centre Commandant SLAMC, Senior Officers, Other Ranks and family members of the contingent were at the airport to bid goodbye to them.
