Under the direction of the Maj Gen H J S Gunawardena RSP USP ndc psc , the Master General Ordnance and Colonel Commandant CES, the Corps of Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters organized a New Year Festival for CES Officers and their families at the RHQ CES Officers Mess at Panagoda on 12 April 2019 to celebrate the forth coming Sinhala and Hindu New Year. A number of entertainment events had been organized specially for the children of CES Officers including “ Guessing Papaya seeds count” ,” Searching for the hidden Stranger” , “Musical Chairs”, Balloon Bursting” , “Picking Toffees “ and “ Jana Gee (Folk Songs) ” competition. The Col Comdt CES graced the occasion as the chief guest and Brig R Ganegoda psc the Director Engineer Services , Col K M S Kumara the Centre Commandant CES , Col S N Kithulgoda USP the Deputy Centre Comdt CES , CES Senior Officers , Officers , their spouses and large number of kids participated in this event.

The New Year Celebration of the Corps of Engineer Services was held on grand scale at the 4th (Vol) Engineer Services Regiment’s premises in Panadura on 17 April 2019 ,with the participation of large number of Officers and Other Ranks. Maj Gen H J S Gunawardena RSP USP ndc psc , the Master General Ordnance and Colonel Commandant CES graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Veterans’ Home in Katana renovated by the troops of 7th (Vol) Engineer Services Regiment commanded by Maj K A S S Perera CES under the coordination of Sri Lanka Ex-servicemen's Association was reopened by Lieutenant General N U M M W Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USACGSC , the Commander of the Army on 7 April 2019.

The 9th (Vol) Engineer Services Regiment celebrated its 10th Unit day on 15 March 2019 at its Headquarters in Anuradhapura. The Unit day was commenced with a Guard turnout for the Commanding Officer - 9 ESR(V), Lt Col N Wanigasinghe Lsc followed by on All Ranks Lunch. Also , in parallel to the Unit’s day celebrations , a musical evening was conducted on 16 March with the participation of Officers , Other Ranks and their family members.

Under the direction of Lt Col N Wanigasinghe Lsc , the Commanding Officer 9 (V) ESR , a “Bodhi Pooja and a Flag Blessing ceremony was organized by the troops of 9 (V) ESR on 11 March 2019 at its Headquarters in Anuradhapura in order to invoke blessings on the troops serving under the Unit. This event was organized in connection with the 10th Anniversary Unit Day celebration of the 9 (V) ESR to be held on 15 March 2019.

In parallel to the 10th Anniversary Unit Day Celebrations a Blood donation campaign was organized by the troops of 9 (V) ESR on 01 March 2019 at its Headquarters in Anuradhapura with the participation of 146 Officers and Other Ranks. The Staff members at Blood Bank of Teaching Hospital ,Anuradhapura extended their cooperation for this event.

Lieutenant General N U M M W Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USACGSC the Commander of the Army declared open the new Officers’ Mess Building of the 11 Division Headquarters at Pallekele , Kandy on 25 February 2019.
The Officers Mess Building was constructed by the troops of 17th Engineer Servicers Regiment headed by Captain D M C U L Dissanayake CES the Garrison Engineer Kandy under the command of Lt Col Y K S Rangika psc CES the Commanding Officer 17 ESR.

In parallel to the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the 9th Engineer Services Regiment that falls on 15 March 2019 , the troops of the 9th Engineer Services Regiment (Vol) served meals to devotees and pilgrims visiting the “Dolos Mahe Dansala” at Ruvanveliseya Stupa in Anuradhapura.
