  • SLMA OFFICER CADETS FAMILIARIZE WITH CES ROLES.

    A group of 38 officer cadets under training at Diyatalawa Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) as part of their familiarization module arrived at RHQ CES on Monday (10). Major SSC Chandrathilake, SO II (IT) RHQ CES presented the role and tasks of the CES along with a brief history of it. At the end of the lecture and lunch those visiting cadet officers awarded a memento to the Colonel S N Kithulgoda USP, Deputy Centre Commandant of CES.

  • THE CORPS OF ENGINEER SERVICES CONDUCT MULTI RELIGIOUS OBSERVANCES TO COINCIDE WITH ITS 70TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

    In connection with the 70th Anniversary celebrations that falls on 10 January 2020, the Corps of Engineer Services conducted Multi Religious observances to invoke blessing on all the members of the Corps.

  • THE NCOS' CLUB OF 1ST ENGINEER SERVICES REGIMENTS CELEBRATES ITS 37TH ANNIVERSARY

    The “Guests Night” organized by the Non Commissioned Officers Club of 1st Engineer Services Regiment was held with the participation of large number of members on 27 December 2019 at the Non Commissioned Officers’ Club of the 1st Engineer Services Regiment at Panagoda. Brigadier R Ganegoda psc the Colonel Commandant CES and the Director Engineer Services graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Col K M S Kumara the Centre Comdt CES, Col S N Kithulgoda USP, the Deputy Centre Commandant CES , Col E A D K Edirisinghe the Col ES and Senior Officers also participated in this event. Cpl Weragala P, the senior most Non Commissioned Officers welcomed the Chief Guest and all other guests.

  • THE 2ND ENGINEER SERVICES REGIMENT CELEBRATES ITS 28TH UNIT DAY

    The 2nd Engineer Services Regiment celebrated its 28th Unit Day on 08 November 2019 at 2nd Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters in Pandulagama, Anuradhapura. To coincide with the 28th Unit Day, the Troops of 2 ESR conducted a Shramadana at Riyenzi Alagiyawanna Special School on 22 October and arranged a lunch for its Children with special needs on 24 October. Also in order to invoke blessing on all the troops of 2 ESR and their family members , a Waru Piritha was conducted on 23 and 24 October at the Regimental Headquarters of the 2 ESR. The Unit Day celebration was commenced with a Guard Turnout and a Ceremonial Parade conferred to the Commanding Officer of 2nd Engineer Services Regiment Lieutenant Colonel HBC Mahendra ptsc ato CES on 08 November. Thereafter, the Commanding Officer planted a sapling to mark the 28th Anniversary of the Unit. A number of entertainment events and games had been organized for the troops, their family members, children and the civil servants. The Unit Day celebration was followed by an All Ranks Lunch.

  • THE 6TH ENGINEER SERVICES REGIMENT (VOL) CELEBRATES THE UNIT DAY

    The 6th (Vol) Engineer Services Regiment celebrated its 13th Unit Day on 28 October 2019 at 6th (Vol) Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters in Malay Street , Colombo. To coincide with the 13th Unit Day , the Troops of 6(V) ESR released a cattle from a slaughter house and conducted a Bodhi Pooja on 23 October 2019. The Unit Day celebration was commenced with a guard turnout accorded to Major O M R Priyantha CES, the CO 6 ESR (V). A number of entertainment events and games had been organized for the troops , their family members, children and the civil servants. The Unit Day celebration was followed by an All Ranks Lunch and a musical evening.

  • SIX BILLIARDS & SNOOKER PLAYERS OF THE CORPS OF ENGINEER SERVICES SELECTED TO NATIONAL POOL

    Six Billiards and Snooker players belong to the Corps of Engineer Services who represent Army Billiards and Snooker Pool have been selected to the National Billiards and Snooker Pool.

  • BRIG R GANEGODA psc THE COLONEL COMMANDANT CES MAKES HIS MAIDEN VISIT TO THE 3RD ENGINEER SERVICES REGIMENT

    Brig R Ganegoda psc , the Colonel Commandant CES and the Director Engineer Services made his first visit to the 3rd Engineer Services Regiment on 15 Aug 2019. Brigadier R Ganegoda psc was warmly welcomed by Lt Col N N Abeysekara CES the Commanding Officer 3 ESR and he was accorded with a Guard turnout at the entrance. Subsequently a sapling was planted by Brigadier R Ganegoda psc in order to mark his first visit to the 3 ESR after becoming the Colonel Commandant CES. After addressing the all Garrison Engineers of the 3 ESR , Col Commandant addressed All Ranks present and joined the All Ranks Tea Party. Thereafter he appeared for a group photograph with all Officers present.

  • THE BILLIARD CHAMPIONS OF THE CORPS OF ENGINEER SERVICES COMMENDED BY THE COMMANDER OF THE ARMY

    Staff Sergeant S G Susantha Wickrama, Lance Corporal M M Mubeen and Lance Corporal T D Maduranga of the Corps of Engineer Services who won Championships representing Sri Lanka Army in recent National level Billiards and Snooker tournaments and events received commendations from the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General N U M M W Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USACGSC when they called at the Army Headquarters on Friday (19), together with Major General H J S Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) and Colonel Commandant Corps of Engineer Services.

  • THE CES OFFICERS’ TRAINING DAY.

    Under the guidance of Major General H J S Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc , the Commander Security Force (Wanni) and the Colonel Commandant CES , the Training Day of CES Officers was held on 18 July 2019 successfully at Corps of Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters with the participation of more than 50 Officers attended from all CES Units and Institutes. The Training day Programme was commenced with a Yoga Training followed by a Drill Training session. In the morning a lecture on Method of Instruction was conducted by Major M P C N Gunasena CES the Second in Command 12 (V) ESR and after the luncheon an informative and thought provoking lecture on " Happiness and Motivation" was conducted by Dr. Eng. Ranil Sugathadasa.
