THE CONTINGENT COMMANDER PAYS COURTESY CALL ON THE HEAD OF THE MISSION AND FORCE COMMANDER OF UNIFIL

Lieutenant Colonel YSHNP Silva USP psc GR, the newly appointed Contingent Commander, paid a courtesy call on the Head of Mission and Force Commander of UNIFIL, Major General Diodato Abagnara, at the Mission Headquarters in Naqoura Camp on 26 July 2025.

The Head of the Mission and Force Commander warmly received the Contingent Commander and his team, congratulating him on his new appointment. The discussion that followed was both cordial and insightful, focusing on Sri Lanka’s enduring commitment to global peace and stability, the professionalism of Sri Lankan peacekeepers, and areas of mutual significance. This engaging exchange further strengthened the foundation for continued collaboration.

At the conclusion of the visit, Lieutenant Colonel Silva presented a memento on behalf of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, to the Head of Mission and Force Commander, along with his best wishes. The gesture was warmly reciprocated by the Force Commander, Major General Abagnara.
