SRI LANKAN PEACEKEEPERS IN SOUTH SUDAN RECEIVE UN MEDALS

The Sri Lankan peacekeepers in the 10th contingent of SRIMED Level 2 Hospital in South Sudan in appreciation of their service were awarded medals during a formal UN Medal Awarding Ceremony on Thursday (17) October 2024 at the Bor Camp in South Sudan.

Accordingly, United Nations Peacekeeping Medals were bestowed upon the Sri Lankan Contingent consisting of 17 Officers and 48 Other Ranks. Lt. Gen. Mohan Subramanian, the Force Commander UNMISS graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his speech, Lt Gen. Mohan Subramanian commended the professionalism and commitment of the Sri Lankan contingent.

The event was followed by a cultural pageant that depicted the proud heritage of Sri Lanka adding colour and elegance to the ceremony.
