SRI LANKAN PEACEKEEPERS SHINE AT UNIFIL ‘INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL & FOOD FESTIVAL’

The 16th Sri Lanka Force Protection Company (SLFPC) participated in the ‘International Cultural & Food Festival’ held at the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Headquarters in Naqoura on 23 October 2025.

The festival, organized under the theme ‘Flavours without Borders,’ celebrated cultural unity through food, promoting diversity, camaraderie, morale and Lebanese hospitality.

This vibrant event showcased a variety of global cultures through traditional cuisines, music and live performances, offering a valuable opportunity to experience and appreciate cultural diversity in an inclusive setting.

Beyond their duties as peacekeepers, members of the SLFPC proudly represented Sri Lanka by sharing the nation’s rich cultural heritage through traditional food and dance performances. Their participation highlighted Sri Lanka’s unique traditions and contributed to fostering mutual respect and friendship among the international peacekeeping community.

The Head of Mission and Force Commander, along with a large contingent representing countries from around the world, attended the event and warmly appreciated the authentic Sri Lankan cuisine and performances presented by the SLFPC.
