The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment has donated 6500Kg of \"Koppara\" on 11.August 2015 to the Sri Dhalada Maligawa for the requirement of the lightning flam-beaus during the Esala Perahara 2015.Colonel of the Regiment Major General NAJC Dias WWV RWP RSP USP ndc , Centre Commandant Colonel DMKDB Pussella RWP RSP ,Representing from all Bns and RHQ VIR Officers and Other Rankers of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and family members also associated with the event.

Ex service officers\' and family get together was held in the regimental multi-functional hall (The Salute ) on 13. September 2015. The Colonel of the Regiment the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Major General NAJC Dias WWV RWP RSP USP ndc has been appointed as the New Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, the Army Headquarters announced Thursday (14) afternoon that He is the 46th Chief of Staff in the Army. Giving prominence to religious ceremonies, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) proudly marked its 25th anniversary with opening of a Buddha Statue at the Regimental Centre, offering floral wreaths for War Heroes, all rank lunch, military salutes, tree planting, troop address and other arrangements during March 23-25 at the VIR Regimental Centre.
